Pineville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Alexandria, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Rebels were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Trojans on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won 21 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Pineville got a massive performance out of Madalyn Halle, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Halle is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Briley Byrnes, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Halle wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Pineville lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexandria didn't launched any home runs.
Pineville pushed their record up to 25-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Alexandria, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-5.
Coming up, Pineville will take on North DeSoto at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alexandria, they will square off against Glenmora at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
