Baseball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Warriors vs. Sinton Pirates

Cornerstone Christian hasn't had much luck against Sinton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cornerstone Christian Warriors will take on the Sinton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sinton will be up against a hot Cornerstone Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Cornerstone Christian's pitchers stepped up to hand Bo Porter Academy a 14-0 shutout on Saturday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sinton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on Taft with a sharp 10-3 win on Wednesday. The game marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Adrian DeAses made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sinton is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-1 otherwise. DeAses was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kash Wood, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Keldon Kemp also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Sinton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taft struck out eight times.

Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.6 runs. As for Sinton, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

Cornerstone Christian might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Sinton in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Cornerstone Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
