Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee vs. Greeneville

Cherokee hasn't had much luck against Greeneville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chiefs will head out on the road to challenge the Greene Devils at 6:00 p.m. Cherokee will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Cherokee turned things around against Claiborne on Monday. They blew past the Bulldogs 5-1. That four-goal margin sets a new team best for Cherokee this season.

Meanwhile, Greeneville fell victim to Gatlinburg-Pittman and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Highlanders. Greeneville have struggled against Gatlinburg-Pittman recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Greeneville's loss dropped their record down to 10-5-2. As for Cherokee, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Cherokee suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Greeneville in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
