 The West Greene Pioneers will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers at 4:00  p.m. The two teams are strolling into their  matches after big wins in their previous games.
 On Tuesday, West Greene made easy work of Jefferson-Morgan  and carried off  a  14-5 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for West Greene.
  Payton Gilbert made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits (and only one walk). Gilbert was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Emmaline Beazell was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 4-for-4.  Ella Scott was another key contributor,  going 2-for-5 with five  RBI and two  doubles.
 Meanwhile, Chartiers-Houston put another one in the bag  on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand California  a   19-0 shutout. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for Chartiers-Houston this season.
 West Greene's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Chartiers-Houston, their win was  their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-0.
