Volleyball Game Preview: Alvirne Broncos vs. Dover Green Wave

The Alvirne Broncos will host the Dover Green Wave at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.

On Tuesday, Alvirne came up short against Salem and fell 3-1. The Broncos have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Dover waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 3-0 win. While the Green Wave didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Dover never let Spaulding on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-23.

Alvirne's loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Dover, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Alvirne might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Dover when the teams last played back in September of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Green Wave's Ali Sullivan, who had eight aces and three digs. Now that the Broncos know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
