Baseball Recap: Council Rock North Indians vs. Pendleton Bulldogs

It was close, but on Tuesday the Council Rock North Indians sidestepped the Pendleton Bulldogs for a 6-5 victory. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.

Will Seiler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Will Cabo was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Peyton Shaw also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Council Rock North and bumps their season record up to 5-6-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Pendleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Coming up, Council Rock North will face off against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pendleton will be paying especially close attention to the Indians' contest: after the Indians faces off against the Red Devils, they'll take on Pendleton again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
