Blackman is 8-2 against Riverdale since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Blackman Blaze will host the Riverdale Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Blackman's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Riverdale has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Monday, Blackman didn't have quite enough to beat LaVergne and fell 41-39. The match marked the Blaze's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Riverdale hadn't done well against Siegel recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Riverdale slipped by Siegel 54-53. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Stars are ranked 98th).

Riverdale's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Blackman, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3.

Blackman came up short against Riverdale in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 51-42. Can Blackman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
