Volleyball Recap: Irondequoit's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Irondequoit unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Spencerport Rangers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Irondequoit lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Leah Greco, who had 20 digs. Tori Uloth also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Irondequoit's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2-3. As for Spencerport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Irondequoit and Spencerport will both be playing Penfield the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Rangers will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
