Football Recap: Philip Barbour Skates Past South Harrison with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Philip Barbour). They blew past the South Harrison Hawks 49-22 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Philip Barbour's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Bennett led the charge by rushing for 55 yards and one TD on only six carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one score. That receiving touchdown marked the first that Bennett has hauled in this season. Robbie Jones was another key passer, throwing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Philip Barbour was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 25 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bennett, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Although South Harrison took the loss, they still got scores from Gabe Ferrell, Collin Seguin, and Elliot Watson.

Philip Barbour's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 40.8 points this season. As for South Harrison, they will square off against Doddridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Shepard Paugh and Lyric Blake.
