Basketball Recap: Lisle Lions vs. Wilmington Wildcats
The Lisle Lions were the 46-39 winner over the Wilmington Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lisle lost to the Wildcats on the road by a decisive 52-35 margin on Friday.
Wilmington was led to victory by Ryan Nelson and Kyle Farrell. Nelson scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Farrell scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Farrell has scored all season. Lucas Rink was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Lisle has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Wilmington, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Lisle's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sentinels at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Wilmington, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gardner-South Wilmington is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
