Baseball Game Preview: Niskayuna Silver Warriors vs. Mohonasen Warriors

The Niskayuna Silver Warriors will take on the Mohonasen Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Niskayuna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Averill Park. Five seems to be a good number for the Silver Warriors as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Mohonasen entered their tilt with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Spartans.

Daniel Corsoro was excellent, earning two RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tommy Gianatasio, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Niskayuna is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Mohonasen, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Niskayuna came up short against Mohonasen in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, falling 3-0. Can the Silver Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
