Center Place came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Heartland Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Center Place not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Heartland between 14 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.

Center Place's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josie Brown, who had five digs and three aces. Brown has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Zoe Brown was another key player, getting six digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Center Place was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Heartland still got an impressive performance from Giovanna Martinez, who had nine digs and two aces.

Center Place's win bumped their record up to 13-1-1. As for Heartland, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Center Place is set to face off against their familiar foe Clinton Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Heartland will square off against rival Overland Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
