Baseball Recap: Carrollwood Day Gets the Win

On Thursday, the Carrollwood Day Patriots were able to grind out a solid win over the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles, taking the game 6-1.

Gabe Troya tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Carrollwood Day's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Julian Earle, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs Earle has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Richie Kemner, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win got Carrollwood Day back to even at 1-1. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrollwood Day will square off against Tampa Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will challenge Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
