Basketball Recap: Mabton's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mabton entered their game against St. George on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mabton Vikings fell just short of the St. George's Dragons by a score of 71-68. The Vikings lost against the Dragons in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 79-45 score last time.

Mabton's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for St. George's, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mabton and Colville will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. St. George's will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Pullman at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
