Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Comes Up Short

If Ridgeview was feeling good fresh off their 67-45 takedown of Cornerstone Christian last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ridgeview Mustangs were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 43-42 to the Flanagan-Cornell Falcons. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flanagan-Cornell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Ruddy, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards Ruddy has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rudra Patel, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Flanagan-Cornell, their record is now 13-6.

Ridgeview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lexington at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lexington will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Ridgeview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Flanagan-Cornell, they and Deer Creek-Mackinaw will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Flanagan-Cornell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
