Basketball Game Preview: Oakley Hornets vs. Sun Valley Community Cutthroats

The Oakley Hornets will square off against the Sun Valley Community Cutthroats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Oakley's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home while Sun Valley Community has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Oakley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 64 points on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Grace on Saturday. They were beaten by the Grizzlies 60-27.

Meanwhile, Sun Valley Community had to suffer through a 79-24 loss at the hands of Valley. While losing is never fun, the Cutthroats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Vikings are ranked 18th).

Oakley's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Sun Valley Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Oakley took their victory against Sun Valley Community in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 51-27. Does Oakley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sun Valley Community turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
