Volleyball Recap: Deer Park Starts Season with Victory Against Cincinnati Country Day

Deer Park took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since September 23, 2024.

Their offense was headlined by Abigail Pettyjohn and Abby Woodley, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Abby Beach and her 22 assists. Pettyjohn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Coincidentally, Deer Park and Cincinnati Country Day will both be playing Middletown Christian the next time they take the court. The Nighthawks will host the Eagles at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
