Softball Recap: Briarwood Christian Comes Up Short

Briarwood Christian lost against Mountain Brook back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Briarwood Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Scout Staggs, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Staggs also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

Briarwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Mountain Brook, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-18.

Coming up, Briarwood Christian will host Homewood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Mountain Brook, they will be taking part in a tournament against Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
