Volleyball Recap: Torrey Pines Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carlsbad, Torrey Pines was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Del Norte Nighthawks by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Torrey Pines had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.

Ben Soudak paced Torrey Pines' offense, picking up 20 kills. Soudak got some help from Zach Lau and his 25 assists. Soudak was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Del Norte lost, don't look at John Lee. Despite the final result, he had 17 assists and four digs.

Torrey Pines' record is now 22-6. As for Del Norte, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-15.
