Basketball Game Preview: Niles North Vikings vs. Maine West Warriors

Niles North is 1-9 against Maine West since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Niles North Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maine West Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Niles North took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Niles West by a score of 47-36. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Maine West was able to grind out a solid win over Leyden on Tuesday, taking the game 38-30. That looming 38-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Niles North's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Maine West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Niles North didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Maine West in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory.
