Baseball Recap: Platte Valley Triumphs

Platte Valley's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Nebraska City Pioneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-1 back in March.

Jack Johnson and Hunter Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Williams went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Williams a new career-high.

The win snapped Platte Valley's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-10 record. As for Nebraska City, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Platte Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 defeat against Ralston on the 21st. As for Nebraska City, they will head out on the road to square off against Plattsmouth at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
