Basketball Recap: Heuvelton Central Comes Up Short

Heuvelton Central managed to keep up with Harrisville until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Heuvelton Central Bulldogs came up short against the Harrisville Pirates, falling 65-45. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Leading Harrisville to victory were Joe Shepherd and Aiden Chartrand. Shepherd posted 31 points, while Chartrand scored 19 points. Shepherd's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Heuvelton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Harrisville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Heuvelton Central will face off against Hermon-DeKalb Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Heuvelton Central is facing Hermon-DeKalb Central at the right time seeing as Hermon-DeKalb Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Harrisville, they will take on Morristown Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harrisville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
