With a playoff win on the line, Juniata Valley rose to the challenge on Monday. They came out on top against the Williamsburg Blue Pirates by a score of 4-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-1 victory last Thursday.

Juniata Valley's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Vincent Hoover, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Matt Dick was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Juniata Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsburg only posted a batting average of .190.

Juniata Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Williamsburg, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
