Baseball Recap: Clark's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Clark walked away with it. They came out on top against the Sotomayor WILDCATS on Thursday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since March 29th.

Ben Roska spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has become a key player for Clark: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Clark's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nate McDonald, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Clark's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14. As for Sotomayor, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8-1.

Clark will have a chance to go back-to-back against the WILDCATS: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
