Preview: Williams Vikings vs. Mogollon Mustangs
Williams has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Mogollon Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Williams focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Williams came up short against Hopi and fell 45-38.
Despite the loss, Williams got a solid performance out of Kai Mortensen , who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals. The game was Mortensen 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydyn Larimore, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Mogollon humbled Hayden with a 46-17 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mogollon.
Their wins bumped Williams to 5-2 and Hopi to 3-2.
Williams was able to grind out a solid win over Mogollon in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 53-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williams since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
