Volleyball Recap: Aurora Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Baya Chamness and Trinity Uhrmacher

It was a good run, but Aurora unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seward Bluejays. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bluejays when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Aurora had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 15-25, 25-20.

Trinity Uhrmacher and Baya Chamness certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Uhrmacher had 21 digs and one assist, while Chamness had four digs and four aces. Uhrmacher has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Hoff, who had 36 assists and six digs.

Leading Seward to victory were Grace Brees and Rilynn Hiser. Brees had 19 digs and three assists, while Hiser had seven digs. That's the most digs Brees has posted over her last seven contests.

Aurora's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Seward, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-10.

Aurora has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Hastings on the 9th. As for Seward, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Schuyler on the 9th.
