Football Game Preview: Littlestown Thunderbolts vs. Bermudian Springs Eagles

The Littlestown Thunderbolts will challenge the Bermudian Springs Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Littlestown's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Littlestown came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by Biglerville and fell 40-12. The Thunderbolts were down 27-0 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Bermudian Springs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed past the Nighthawks to the tune of 55-0. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 27 points per game.

Littlestown better keep an eye on Lane Hubbard. He was instrumental in Bermudian Springs' win, rushing for 74 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 100 yards and one touchdown. Hubbard also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Eagles are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Blain Cruz, who rushed for 79 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Bermudian Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Bermudian Springs' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Preston Gladfelter was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Littlestown now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Bermudian Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
