Baseball Recap: Philo Find Success

Philo came out on top against Crooksville on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Electrics walked away with a 9-4 win over the Ceramics. The victory continues a trend for the Electrics in their matchups with the Ceramics: they've now won four in a row.

Josh Gooden and Cooper Radcliffe did most of the damage at the plate: Gooden went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Radcliffe went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Gooden has become a key player for Philo: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Clayton Colborn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Philo's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Crooksville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
