Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine

It's playoff time, and Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine had no trouble coming through when it counted. They snuck past the Grass Range/Winnett Rangers with a 55-51 victory on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Grass Range/Winnett is ranked fourth).

Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. Grass Range/Winnett's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
