Football Recap: Bayshore Skates Past Braden River with Ease + How To Watch

Bayshore hadn't done well against Braden River recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bruins simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pirates 42-7. The contest marked the Bruins' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Bayshore's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydis Wiley, who threw for 150 yards and one TD while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Jashun Judge helped Wiley out on the ground, rushing for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Bayshore didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Braden River to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Kary Alexis and Xavier Austin, who each logged one passes deflected. That defensive display was nothing new: Bayshore has limited their opponent to a lower and lower completion percentage in three consecutive matches.

Bayshore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ky'Mani Reed, Devaughn Scott, and Wilson Nonnombre picked up one apiece. With that strong performance, Scott is now averaging an impressive 5.5 total tackles per game. Reed got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bayshore's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.7 points over those games. As for Braden River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Bayshore wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 57-7 victory against IMG Academy State on the 18th. As for Braden River, they will square off against Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulls' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
