Hinckley-Big Rock and Indian Creek are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Royals will square off against the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Hinckley-Big Rock couldn't beat Gardner-South Wilmington on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Royals fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 10-5 to Earlville.

Indian Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giovanni Data, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Zakory Nelson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Indian Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.

Hinckley-Big Rock took their victory against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
