Basketball Recap: Notus Pirates vs. Victory Charter Vipers

Notus lost against Victory Charter back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Notus Pirates took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victory Charter Vipers. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Benny Guevara, who went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Huter, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

Victory Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cody Luce led the charge by going 6 of 14 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was Luce's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jett Wood, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 boards.

Notus' loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Victory Charter, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
