Baseball Recap: Crossroads Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Crossroads Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Statesville Christian Lions by a score of 4-1.

Bobby Bobbitt made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Bobbitt was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those hits were his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Wesley Anderson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Easton Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Cody Paschall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases.

Crossroads Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Statesville Christian struck out ten times.

Crossroads Christian pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Statesville Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroads Christian will head out to face off against Ridgecroft at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Crossroads Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Statesville Christian, they will square off against Oak Ridge Military Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
