Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cornerstone Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Calvary Baptist Cougars by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-3 back in March.

Alec O'Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Steel Hoham was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Josh May, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Cornerstone Christian's record now sits at 15-5. As for Calvary Baptist, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.

Cornerstone Christian has already played their next contest, a 14-0 win against Norton Science & Language Academy on the 18th. As for Calvary Baptist, they will host The Grove School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
