Graceville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,215 from 11,517. The improvement was the result of 27-7 victory over the Tigers last week.
Wewahitchka's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rashard Rainey threw for 78 and two touchdowns and Javar Hill had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Jalyn Addison chipped in 93 yards. Jarvest Sherfield helped Wewahitchka's passing attack out by catching two balls for 15 yards.
The Gators' Rainey and Sherfield have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards. Rainey has thrown for 435 yards this season, while Sherfield, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has nine catches for 164 yards. Sneads's Tre Keys leads the league in rushing yards with 564.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Vernon takes on Cottondale. The Yellowjackets are currently in fourth, while the Hornets are in first.
Wewahitchka fell 27-26 to Franklin County in the closest game of the week. Rainey was a bright spot for the Gators, as he ran for 67 yards in the loss.
