Midland Christian added to the longest winning streak in TAPPS Division II District 1 this week by beating Fort Worth Christian, 51-3. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Mustangs.
Faith Christian scaled the state rankings by moving to 675 from 710 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Pantego Christian 20-10.
Midland Christian's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mason McClendon threw for 259 and 3 touchdowns and Grant Little had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Fender contributed 103 yards. Jarrod Koym helped Midland Christian's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 68 yards.
Little was the best wideout in the league this week as Greg McClendon's team defeated the Cardinals. Little racked up 3 receptions for 76 yards. Koym helped Midland Christian's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 68 yards.
Midland Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. McClendon has thrown for 2,563 yards and 37 touchdowns this season, while Koym has 32 catches for 702 yards.
A big matchup in TAPPS Division II District 1 this week will be when Reicher Catholic takes on Faith Christian. The Cougars are currently in second, while Kris Hogan's team is in fifth.
The Mustangs took down Fort Worth Christian 51-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. McClendon ran for 57 yards in the win.
