Basketball Recap: Ravenna Comes Up Short

On Monday, the Ravenna Bluejays were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the Twin River Titans.

Despite the defeat, Ravenna saw an underclassman step up: freshman Emmarie Lutz went 8-for-13 on her way to 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lutz has scored all season. Kellie Huryta was another key player, putting up ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Ravenna has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Twin River, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 13-10.

As of now, neither Ravenna nor Twin River have any future games scheduled.
