Football Recap: New Home's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, New Home couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 26-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Texas Comanches on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Comanches are ranked 100th).

Despite the loss, New Home still got an impressive performance from Ryder Starkey, who rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Cayde Winters continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Texas, rushing for 226 yards and three scores. Winters is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 162 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Kelby Sherwood, who rushed for 139 yards and one TD.

With the defeat, New Home broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3. As for West Texas, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
