Softball Recap: Van Bulldogs vs. Hannan Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Princeton, Van was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hannan Wildcats a 21-0 shutout. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Layla Albright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Albright was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Tackett, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Calli Brown, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Van always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
