Basketball Game Preview: Erwin Warriors vs. McDowell Titans

Erwin is on a five-game streak of home wins, while McDowell is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Erwin Warriors will welcome the McDowell Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Erwin strolled past T.C. Roberson with points to spare, taking the game 53-39. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, McDowell really took it to Asheville for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-35 win. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Erwin's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for McDowell, their win bumped their record up to 22-0.

Erwin was dealt a bruising 72-38 loss at the hands of McDowell when the teams last played back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Erwin was down 35-14.
