Tuscola is 9-1 against Smoky Mountain since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mountaineers will welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Tuscola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tuscola's offense. They fell just short of East Henderson by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Mountaineers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Smoky Mountain entered their tilt with Franklin on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 4-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Panthers on their field since May 25, 2021.

Smoky Mountain's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Tuscola, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Tuscola took their victory against Smoky Mountain in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 13-2 score. Do the Mountaineers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
