Basketball Game Preview: Enka Jets vs. Erwin Warriors

Enka has gone 9-1 against Erwin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Enka Jets will challenge the Erwin Warriors at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Enka and four for Erwin.

Enka is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against McDowell on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Enka was outmatched by McDowell and fell 82-40. The Jets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.

Enka might have lost, but man, Logan Trantham was a machine: he went 8 for 15 en route to 29 points. The game was Trantham's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lawson Mcclure, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, Erwin lost 88-68 to North Buncombe on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (65), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Enka's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Erwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Enka couldn't quite finish off Erwin when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 69-66. Can Enka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
