Basketball Game Preview: New Prairie Cougars vs. Oregon-Davis Bobcats

New Prairie is 9-1 against Oregon-Davis since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the New Prairie Cougars duke it out with the Oregon-Davis Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for New Prairie and 23 for Oregon-Davis dating back to last season.

New Prairie saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They were beaten by LaVille 64-37.

Despite the defeat, New Prairie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brody Wiginton went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. Wiginton is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Fronk, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Oregon-Davis took a blow against Bremen on Tuesday, falling 69-29.

New Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Oregon-Davis, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

New Prairie didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Oregon-Davis when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win. Does New Prairie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oregon-Davis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
