Basketball Recap: CJ Parker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ocoee over Eustis

Ocoee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 62-48 fall against the Eustis Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Panthers are ranked 49th).

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was CJ Parker, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Mcclenton, who had five points and ten rebounds.

Eustis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lomar Sparrow led the charge by going 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Andrew Riley was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Ocoee's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Eustis, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Ocoee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-48 defeat against Campbell on the 30th. As for Eustis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-39 victory against Lake Weir on the 3rd.
