Basketball Recap: Olathe North Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

After losing to Shawnee Mission East the last time they met, Olathe North decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Olathe North Eagles strolled past the Shawnee Mission East Lancers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 45-28. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Lancers are ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olathe North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Asia Lee, who went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Lee a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (75%). Daliyah Williams was another key player, putting up ten points along with six assists and four steals.

Olathe North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Olathe North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Shawnee Mission East, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
