Alex Augustine was a major factor in Pomperaug's victory over Bunnell on Friday. Augustine didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Pomperaug is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-6 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Augustine and Pomperaug are taking a road trip to square off against Kolbe-Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are 9-1 against the Cougars going back to April of 2015, a lead they'll look to extend.
