Baseball Game Preview: Palatka Panthers vs. Father Lopez Green Wave

The Palatka Panthers will square off against the Father Lopez Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palatka will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Last Friday, Palatka didn't have quite enough to beat Keystone Heights and fell 8-7. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Paxton Sweat was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Wiggs, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Father Lopez ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Mainland 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Wave.

Father Lopez's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Palatka, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Palatka skirted past Father Lopez 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Palatka repeat their success, or does Father Lopez have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
