Basketball Game Preview: Northland Prep Academy Spartans vs. Camp Verde Cowboys

Last Tuesday, Northland Prep Academy blew past Hopi, posting a 64-37 win. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Bruins are ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northland Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden Joiner, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points and five boards. Joiner has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Ian Karren was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Camp Verde unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. The game between them and Scottsdale Christian Academy didn't end well, with Camp Verde falling 63-46.

Northland Prep Academy's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Camp Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
