Hawbridge scored the most  points they've had  this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They had to suffer through a   60-18 loss at the hands of the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions. The  loss leaves the Herons without a win on the season.
  Hunter Goss was  his usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 20  points and 13  boards for Excelsior Classical Academy. Goss has been hot for a while, having  posted eight or more  rebounds the last 17 times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Shawn Francis-Service, who  went 7 of 16 on his way to 15 points and four  steals.
Hawbridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Excelsior Classical Academy,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-2.
 Hawbridge will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Emerson Waldorf at 3:00  p.m.  on January 16, 2025. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  70-54  victory against Henderson Collegiate on the 10th.
