Baseball Recap: Pleasant's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Pleasant had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Marion Harding Presidents 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since May 16, 2024.

Pleasant got a great performance from Johnathan Maran as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Maran also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Spartans are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Hamper, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Marion Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant will square off against Fairbanks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion Harding, they will challenge Hayes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
